Part Time Nanny – Hertfordshire

Start Date: October 2026
Days: Tuesday to Friday
Hours: 9:00am to 5:30pm  / 34 hours 
Salary: £18–£20 gross per hour
Driver: Essential – Duty Car Provide 
Position: Long-term

£18 to £20 gph

A lovely family are looking for a warm, confident and engaging nanny to join them on a long-term basis and become a trusted part of family life.

​

The family are keen to find someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and wants them to have fun, active and engaging days. This is a role for a nanny who will get involved in their play rather than simply supervise, and who enjoys getting outdoors, whether that's heading to the park, exploring woodland, attending groups or arranging playdates.

 

The nanny will have sole care for two boys aged 2 and 11 months,

 

The role will include:

  • Planning fun, age-appropriate activities and getting involved in the children's play

  • Plenty of outdoor time, trips to parks, woodland and local activities

  • Attending playgroups and arranging playdates

  • Planning / preparing meals and snacks

  • Children's laundry and bedding

  • Keeping play areas and children's spaces tidy

  • Encouraging independence

  • Supporting positive mealtimes and helping with fussy eating

  • Working closely and openly with the parents

 

On the three longer days, the nanny will have sole charge of both children. The two shorter days will involve nursery pick-up at 3:30pm and caring for the children through until 5:30pm.

 

The family are looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, confident and genuinely enjoys being around young children

  • Playful and engaging, rather than purely supervisory

  • Active and happy to get out and about with the children

  • Experienced in caring for babies and toddlers in a nanny position

  • Confident supporting fussy eaters – experience in this area would be particularly valuable

  • A confident driver

  • Reliable, communicative and happy to become a trusted part of the family

  • Looking for a long-term position

 

The family are hoping for an October start, but are happy to prioritise finding the right person rather than rushing the process.
