Start date: Beginning of December 2026, with a settling-in period beforehand

A lovely family in St Albans is looking for a warm, nurturing and experienced nanny to care for their baby, who will be one year old in December.

The family would love to find someone who genuinely enjoys supporting a little one's development, creating a fun and engaging day, and helping them learn through play, exploration and everyday activities.

Both parents work from home, so they are looking for a nanny who is confident working in a household where parents are around, while taking the lead in providing attentive and engaging childcare.

The role will involve providing sole-charge care during the agreed hours, creating a happy and stimulating environment and supporting the baby's development and daily routines.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Planning age-appropriate activities, interactive play and independent play.

  • Reading books, enjoying music and encouraging curiosity and developmental milestones.

  • Managing naps and supporting the development of independent sleep habits.

  • Preparing and serving lunch.

  • Taking the baby to local baby groups and music classes.

  • Keeping the parents updated throughout the day and maintaining good communication.

The family is currently looking into some possible food sensitivities and digestive issues, so the nanny will need to be attentive to dietary requirements and follow the parents' guidance.

Their baby is described as happy, smiley and curious, and is reaching exciting new milestones. The family would love a nanny who will enjoy getting involved in this stage of development and help their little one thrive.

There is also a very friendly German Shepherd at home, so the nanny must be comfortable around large dogs.

The family is looking for someone who is warm, patient, flexible and understanding, with good communication skills and a genuine interest in early childhood development.

If you are an experienced, nurturing nanny looking for a lovely part-time role in St Albans, I would love to hear from you.
